About Today's SpecialAt the start of this new year, we looked forward to our lives and a new beginning. We set goals for what we wanted to be, promises for who we wanted to become, habits we needed to break, and health we intended to attain. Whatever our resolutions and whatever our reasons, we aspired to be and become: all generated with a new start. But there are others still, who need extra support and comfort. When purchasing today's special, proceeds go to Project Linus, a nonprofit organization that strives to better the lives of children in need! About the BookDo you operate or know someone that operates a quilting-related business? This book is for them! Written by Daniel Purcell, a web design expert with over 6 years of experience in the quilting industry and Founder of Danemco (a website development company), Websites for Quilters is an informative how-to guide for professional longarm quilters, quilt stores, pattern designers, and manufacturers in the quilting industry. Learn how to expand your existing business or begin a business of your own in the quilting industry. Have an existing website? This book will also give you tips on how to improve your site and cater to your customers. Websites for Quilters (2nd Ed.) offers valuable insight on:
About Project LinusProject Linus is a non-profit organization whose mission is "...to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need..." Project Linus started with one idea sparked on Christmas Eve in 1995 by an article titled “Joy to the World”, which appeared in Parade Magazine by Eddie Adams. The article presented a frail 3 year old child who had been going through intensive chemotherapy for leukemia. Through this frightening ordeal, her security blanket stayed by her side keeping her company while she went to each treatment for her disease. Karen Loucks, touched by the article, decided to provide homemade security blankets to Denver’s Rocky Mountain Children’s Cancer Center, thus Project Linus was born. |
